Dalston Hall is 20 minutes from Keswick, the centre of Lake District walking and outdoor activity, and itself a pretty market town

Few areas can offer a better variety of walking and climbing opportunities. The lakes offer great water sports, or you could go horse riding, paragliding or play golf, tennis, bowls.

Additionally, the surrounding fells and the Solway Coast offer a feast of entertainment whatever your interest may be - fell walking, bird watching, rock climbing or maybe just a meal and a drink in one of the many picturesque inns.
